First time eating here: Visited Mother's Day with the father of my 3 year old. The staff was friendly, smiled, and easy to spark up a conversation with. I ordered brisket and he ordered chopped chicken & pork with some sides. Thanks to the most professional and interpersonal James Hester (owner), we were able to give this family owned business a second chance.
Initially, the brisket was cut wrong giving the appearance of stewed meat which ultimately turned out chewy and stiff to eat, sauce was forgotten on the meats & the sides were off. Unsure what happened but perhaps Mother's Day was the wrong time to have an off day. I'm forgiving-so we went back after the owner promised to right the wrongs. Boy did he! This time around the food was perfect-scratch that; food was amazing! Thanks Shay for taking care of our orders. The brisket was cut against the grain & tender, no sauce forgotten and the sides were right up taste bud alley. Will be coming back.
