I been going here for years love the food but this year I’ve had the worst experience here and this year orders been getting made wrong idk if on purpose or what but imma have to stop going cause these prices way too high to keep messing my orders up fr! And to expect us to make sure our orders correct before leaving when the order was taken correctly and shows up on the paper is crazy! Like people can read and follow directions right? And After waiting so long people be ready to go and ain’t got time to be double, triple checking behind someone we paying to give us a service. If I gotta do all this rechecking and waiting imma just start cooking at home everyday which I now am cause ain’t no way fr!And I say idk if it’s on purpose or what cause I haven’t had any issues for years until the one time had bad service from the lady in the back and every since then when I get a order something is wrong! It’s something “small” every time so not easy to catch before I leave but atp I’m feeling like it’s on purpose now cause again I been going here for years with no issues until then!Just let me know when that lady no longer works there so I can start coming back and getting my orders made correctly again!

Read their recent food inspection (Aug/Sept 2024) report before you eat here. They had turkey legs thawing in a dirty sink. Eat at your own risk!

Wholy Smokes… this meat is unmatched. Me and my husband got the small family meal with 1lb brisket and 1lb chicken with a side of yellow rice and apple cobbler; the meat is next level. Hands down THE best meat I’ve ever had from a barbecue joint. The chicken here is a real standout, it’s the best chicken I’ve had period - not just from a barbecue place but overall it’s the best. Seasoned incredibly, great ratio of crispy ends to juicy meat, and the spicy gold SLAPS. I’m not from Texas, so I don’t know how they do it there, but here in SC this gold sauce is the best I’ve had. The apple cobbler is homemade and delicious. I’d skip the yellow rice next time just because it was a little bland for me but it’d be a good side to compliment the very well seasoned meats. I’m excited to try more sides next time 😄 The owner was there and thanked my husband who was picking up the order, very kind customer service from the owner and most of the staff! Only negative was one of our sauces on the side wasn’t closed and leaked all over the bag on the way home, but it didn’t get into anything because they wrapped it well, so I’m only heartbroken about missing some of the sauce 😂 oh and the cornbread is delicious.TRY THIS PLACE. Not to be a hater but it’s way better than SBH.

Hey everyone, my wife and I are originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and we have been residents of Simpsonville, South Carolina for about three years. We've tried a couple of barbecue restaurants in the area, but wow, this place Wholy Smoke Family Restaurant is amazing! We have eaten there for three consecutive days and can't wait to return very soon.
